    Prasasti Batutulis

    When your plan smashed by the rain, what would you do? I’ll say, change the destination immediately. Yes, perhaps this place is not so attractive than natural landscape, however i found serenity and lots of lesson learn in it…the place called  Prasasti Batutulis.

    Batutulis once it has been known where the inauguration of all the kings from the Pajajaran Kingdom take place during the reign of Sri Baduga Maharaja or The King of Siliwangi (1482 - 1521)

    It was year of 1533 when the King Surawisesa (1521 - 1535) successor of Sri Baduga Maharaja decreed the message written on stone which dedicated to the pride of his father’s parentage and dignity.

    The main purpose of making those inscription was religious ceremony in order that the supernatural power of Sri Baduga Maharaja capable enough to protect the country from his enemy.

    The inscription is still sacred until now for many people. It has a structure width 145 cm and height 150 cm, has 9 lines and written in old Sundanese letters.

    The script written on the stone as follow:

    1. …WANGA PUN INI SASAKALA PRABU RATU PURANE PUN DIWASTU (Peace on to you this is a memorial of demised Prabu Ratu (King))

    2. DIYA WENGARAN PREBU GURU DEWATA PRANA DIWASTU DIYA DINGARAN SRI (His Majesty was crowned bearing the predicate of Prabu Guru Dewata Prana)

    3. BADUGA MAHARAJA RATU HAJI DI PAKUAN PAJAJARAN SRI BADUGA RATU DE- (The second coronation, the predicate of Sri Baduga Maharaja Ratu Haji in Pakuan Pajajaran Sri Sang Ratu De-)

    4. WATA PUN YANU NYUSUK NA PAKUAN DIYA ANAKA RAHYANG DEWA NIS- (Wata was be stowed upon the Majesty. It was his majesty who built the fortress of Pakuan he is the son of Rahyang Dewa Nis-)

    5. KALA SANG SIDA MOKTA DI GUNA TIGA INCU RAHYANG NISKALA WASTU (kala is the son of tiga and the grandson of Rahyang Niskala Wastu)

    6. KANCANA SANG SIDA MOKTA KA NUSA LARANG YA SIYA NU NYIAN SAKAKA- (Kancana interned at Nusa Larang it was his Majesty who had built shaped-)

    7. LA GUGUNUNGAN NGABALAY NYIAN SANGHYANG TALAGA (of mountain memorials which have been declared as holly places for meditation also created the Talaga)

    8. RENA MAHA WIJAYA YA SIYA PUN I SAKA PANCA PANDA (Rana Maha Wijaya (lake). Indeed, his Majesty who had realized this all in the year of Saka)

    9. WA EMBAN BUMI…(1455 or 1533 AD)

    This is Prabu Surawisesa footprints (bottom) and print of his knee (up) when he written down the script.

    Based on information from the keeper (kuncen) of Prasasti Batutulis, originally the script was written by using finger of his Majesty. Nowadays, they using marker for handling the inscription to conserve the writing remains eligible.

    This stone believed could bring the welfare for who could hug the stones in reverse position.

    in the Batutulis complex there are 15 pieces of stone relics (6 stones inside the cungkup, 1 stone in terrace, 2 stones in veranda and 6 stones in yard) that include in TERASIT types. This type of stone only could find in a flow of Cisadane river.

    These stones in the days of empire, was used to tether horse rope.
