MarKampung Naga (Dragon Village)
Kampung Naga is a village inhabited by a group of people who are very strong in holding the relics of ancestral customs, in this case is customary Sunda. Like the Bedouin settlements, Kampung Naga became the object of anthropological study of rural community life in the transition from the Sundanese Hindu influence to the influence of Islam in West Java.
The Village is administratively located in the region Neglasari, District Salawu, Tasikmalaya District, West Java Province. Location of Kampung Naga is not far from the highway that connects the city with the city of Garut Tasikmalaya. The village is located in a fertile valley, with the boundary region, west of Kampung Naga is limited by the sacred forest since in the forest there are Kampung Naga ancestral tomb. In the south bordered by rice fields of the population, and to the north and east bounded by Ci Wulan (Kali Wulan) that the source of its water comes from Mount Cikuray in Garut district.
Distance from town to Kampung Naga Tasikmalaya approximately 30 miles, while from Garut city 26 kilometers away. To get to Kampung Naga from the highway Garut-Tasikmalaya had to descend the stairs that have been on the wall (Sundanese: sengked) up to the riverbank Ciwulan with a slope of about 45 degrees with a distance of approximately 500 meters. Then through the path along the river of Ciwulan you’ll get to Kampung Naga.
